région a su conserver une véritable
identité authentique.. Entre
cimes enneigées des Alpes du Sud et collines
sèches de la Provence, les Terres du " Haut
Pays " ne demandent qu'à être
découvertes. Les paysages y sont multiples
et variés ; des gorges du Verdon à la
Montagne de Lure en passant par la Clue de
Sisteron, les Pénitents des Mées et
l'Abbaye Bénédictine de Ganagobie.
Giono, Pagnol, Cézanne et bien d'autres
encore se sont inspirés de cette "PROVENCE
DES COLLINES".

culinary traditions and country products is well
known ; fruit and vegetable,
cheese, olive oil and lavender are a symbol of our
sunny region.
Each village or country
has its culinary speciality : the Lamb
of Sisteron, the Cheese of Banon, the fruits of the
Durance Valley… and a lot of others we invite
you to come and discover.
Our department " Alpes de
Haute Provence " brings us an exceptional quality
of living. The sun shines 300 days per
year, the air is one of the purest in France and
its nature allows a lot of leisure : 300 paths of
hiking, 19 winter sports resorts, 6 big lakes, 3
regional nature parks and 1 geologic nature
reserve.
